Reach the Ennead Cineplex crew

Send a screening note, pitch a piece, or ask about press and festival coverage. We read everything, and we credit every contributor we publish.

Editorial pitches

For screening notes and story pitches, write to us directly. Tell us the venue, the format, the date, and one paragraph on what you actually saw or heard.

Phone

Weekday calls only, and keep it short. If we are in a booth, we will call you back once the reel is running.

When to expect a reply

Most weekends we are in screening rooms across Braamfontein, Rosebank and Maboneng, so replies can take up to a week. If your note is time-sensitive, say so in the subject line.

What we do not cover

No financial speculation, adult content, gambling or crypto framing. Pitches outside that scope will not be published, however well written.

Where to find the crew

We do not run a walk-in office. The journal is put together between screenings, so the address below is where post and deliveries reach us, and the phone is answered when nobody is threading a reel.

Getting here from around Gauteng

  • By car from Braamfontein. Take the M1 north and follow the R512 turn-off toward North Werner. Parking is on the street side of the building; the gate is unmarked, so look for the amber light above the door.
  • From Rosebank. Roughly a forty-minute drive outside peak hours. If you are dropping off a print or a hard drive, call ahead so someone is at the door instead of in a screening room.
  • From Maboneng. Allow extra time on Friday evenings. The last stretch has no reliable signage, and the numbering on Fortuin Crossing runs in a way that surprises first-time visitors.
  • By taxi or rideshare. Ask to be set down at the Fortuin Crossing junction rather than the street number. Drivers in the area know the corner better than the address.

Deliveries and in-person drop-offs are best arranged in advance by email. If you are sending a screening note or a pitch, the editorial address reaches the whole crew.

Send a screening note or pitch a piece

We read everything that lands here, usually on a Monday after a weekend of screenings. If you were in the room when something went right or sideways, we want the specifics: the venue, the format, the date, and one honest paragraph about what you actually saw or heard. Projectionists, programmers, students and regular filmgoers across Gauteng are all welcome to write in.

Every published contributor is credited by name. Replies can take about a week, since most of the crew is in a booth or a queue somewhere between Thursday and Sunday. We do not open attachments, so paste any links or text directly into your email.
